Fodor's Review

Art House Project artists take empty houses and other structures left behind by islanders who have gone to seek work in the city and turn them into installation art projects. Art, memory, and everyday life blend together as you wander through the seven "houses" (including a temple and shrine) in Honmura while around you villagers go about their daily business. If you have time for only one house, don't miss James Turrell's Minamidera.
