Fodor's Review

Never mind what's inside, the building itself is art. Chichu literally means "inside the earth," and this Tadao Ando–designed museum, built into a hillside overlooking Naoshima's south coast, lives up to its name. View works by Monet, Walter de Maria, and James Turrell in natural light. The Monet gallery is breathtaking. Buy tickets at the ticket office 50 meters down the road; during busy times, you'll probably have to wait to enter.
