Excellent Japanese cuisine balances traditional with experimental. Across three floors are dozens of different spaces to sit: cushioned floor nooks, sit-down tables, private latticed-in chambers, and an astonishing variety of styles that never clash in this superbly decorated restaurant. They'll help you decipher the Japanese menu, but you can't go wrong with the ¥2,500 set course; eight different dishes give a wide range of eats and even the staples—sashimi, salads—are excellent.
