The Aqua Liner runs a 60-minute tour (¥1,600-¥1,880) through Osaka's waterways, departing daily from April to September every hour from 10 to 4. There are also evening tours from 6 to 7 on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and national holidays departing from three piers, at Osaka-jo, Tenma-bashi, and Yodoya-bashi. These are the only tours of Osaka conducted in both Japanese and English.

Japan Travel Bureau Sunrise Tours runs afternoon tours in English daily to Kyoto (¥8,000) and Nara (¥9,000). Pickup service is available at several hotels.

Japan's Home Visit System, which enables foreign visitors to meet local people in their homes for a few hours to learn about the Japanese lifestyle, is available in Osaka. Apply in advance through the Osaka Tourist Information Center at either JR Shin-Osaka Station or JR Osaka Station.
