Osaka's Kabuki theater, built in 1923 as Japan's first Western-style theater, rivals Tokyo's Kabuki-za. Technology has been cleverly incorporated into Shochiku-za alongside traditional theater design. The house hosts kabuki for about half the year, with major performances most months. The rest of the year it hosts musicals and other concerts. Tickets range from ¥4,000 to ¥20,000.
