You wouldn't think that the cheesy samurai-pose chef's portrait and sailor-suited waitresses would speak to getting an authentically high-quality meal, but Sam's Anchor Inn—and its two siblings, Sam's Maui and Sam's By-the-Sea, at intervals along Kokusai-dori—offer a great Japanese steak-house experience in a rollicking, fun atmosphere. The dinner-show experience combines with steak or seafood platters for a fun meal; it can be packed on weekends.
