Ikema-jima
Ikema-jima Review
Connected to the northwestern corner of Miyako-jima by a bridge, this small island, ringed by a scenic coastal road, has fine views above and below the sea. A distinctive rock formation shaped like a whale tail poised to slap the water lies offshore (and is prominent in postcards). The island is 35 minutes by bus from Hirara.
