Kayaking

Mansaku Tour Service. Sea kayaking is a terrific way to experience some of the best of what Iriomote has to offer. Tours set off where the road ends at Shirahama; from there it's into the waves. After navigating some shore points and smaller straights and islets, you'll weave in and out of the mangrove rivers and waterfalls dotting the coast. You won't really hit the open ocean, but the scenery is wonderful and it's tiring enough if you are not accustomed to it. Your guide Mansaku-san is decently conversant in English and skilled at creating a fun atmosphere during the trip. If the weather is good you can snorkel off the kayaks into the crystal-clear bay.
