Elsewhere on Okinawa Honto

Scattered along the west coast of Okinawa Honto north of Naha are flashy beach resorts usually booked solid with package-tour travelers from Tokyo or Osaka: Sunset Mihama, Moon Beach, Manza Beach, Emerald Beach, and Okuma Beach, listed from south to north. Although pleasant enough, the beaches at these resorts aren't nearly as beautiful as those on the southern islands of Miyako-jima and Ishigaki-jima, and on the Kerama Islands. The impressive Churaumi Aquarium, however, with its 22½-foot whale sharks and fleet of giant manta rays, is worth visiting.
