The Best of Times

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best times to visit Nara. The cherry blossoms peak in late March-early April, and the turning foliage is at its brightest in late October-early November. Summer (June to August) is hot and sticky. June is when Japan's rainy season either drizzles for a few days and disappears or creates weeks of torrential downpours. There are often light snowfalls in winter (December to February).
