Nagoya, Ise-Shima, and the Kii Peninsula Restaurants

Sekai no Yama-chan

Fodor's Review

Pepper-coated tebasaki (deep-fried chicken wings) are the specialty at the main branch of Nagoya's best-known izakaya chain, though you can also order sashimi and other favorites. With most dishes costing around ¥400 to ¥500, the prices are affordable. This no-frills place mixes traditional and Western-style seating, and the atmosphere is lively. To avoid the cigarette smoke that will inevitably be coming from other tables, ask for a seat in the small nonsmoking

area.
