Inuyama

Inuyama

Inuyama sits along the Kiso River, on the border between Aichi and Gifu prefectures. A historically strategic site, the city changed hands several times during the Edo period. You can see cormorant fishing here; tickets are available from major hotels for ¥2,500-¥2,800. A good way to see the Kiso-gawa is on a tame raft. To travel the hour-long, 13-km (8-mi) river trip (¥3,400), take the train on the Meitetsu Hiromi Line from Inuyama to Nihon-Rhine-Imawatari. Once there, check out several companies before selecting the boat you prefer.
