Nagoya, Ise-Shima, and the Kii Peninsula Hotel Reviews
Nagoya's lodging ranges from ryokan (traditional Japanese inns) and efficient business hotels to large luxury palaces. At Koya-san, temple accommodation is a fascinating experience. Furnishings in temples are spartan but sufficient, and the food is strictly vegetarian. You may be invited to attend early-morning prayer service. In addition to holidays, hotels are busy in October owing to conferences held in Nagoya and autumn foliage outside the city. Unless otherwise noted, expect private baths, air-conditioning, and basic TV in all rooms. The large hotels in downtown Nagoya have English-speaking staff, but it's advisable to ask a tourist information center to make reservations for you outside the city.
