On most days an artist is painting at the large wooden table in the center of this gallery. Small cards with inspirational messages and illustrations such as persimmons and wildflowers make original souvenirs (¥300-¥2,000). For a unique memento of old Japan, you can sift through clothing made from antique kimonos at the rear of the gallery or piles of antique cotton and silk textiles in Folk Art Gallery Itoguruma, the little shop to the right of the entrance.
