Visitor Information in Kyoto

The Kyoto Tourist Information Center is on the ninth floor of the Kyoto Station building, in the Kyoto International Prefectural Center. To get there, take the south elevator from the second floor of Isetan department store. The counter may be small but commendable assistance comes from a friendly, knowledgeable staff. The office is open daily 10 to 6 and closed the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

The Japan Travel Bureau (JTB) and Keihan Travel Agency provide information on tours, such as the Sunrise Tours JTB offers; conferences and symposiums; and obtaining Japan Rail Passes. The JTB Web site lists contact numbers outside of Japan.
