Café Indépendants

Café Indépendants Review

This laid-back spot, especially popular at lunch, serves good daily specials, including curries, salads, and soups. A devoted clientele of students and artists comes for the cheap, bountiful lunch plates, the friendly service, and the convivial atmosphere. The setting is a Meiji-era building's brick-and-plaster basement, with funky mosaic tiles and lots of exposed masonry. It's located on the south side of Sanjo-dori one block in from the Tera-machi shopping arcade.
