Hyatt Regency Review

The central location and friendly staff make the Hyatt Regency the city's best luxury hotel. Adjacent to two of the most popuar attractions—Sanjusangen-do temple and its 1,000 golden statues are next door, and the Kyoto National Museum is literally across the street—the hotel is a perfect base for exploring the city's sights. In the main lobby, latticework evoking old kimono dyeing patterns frames the three well-regarded restaurants and the funky downstairs bar. Spacious rooms are accented with cheerful fabrics and look out onto the tree-shaded garden. If a day's adventuring tires you out, indulge in acupuncture or a massage in the downstairs spa.
