Gekkeikan Okura Kinenkan (Gekkeikan Okura Museum)

Gekkeikan Okura Kinenkan (Gekkeikan Okura Museum) Review

Not far from Fushimi-Inari Taisha is a district of old white-walled sake breweries and warehouses, some dating to the early Edo era. Gekkeikan, founded in 1637, is one of the oldest breweries. The museum details the brewing process, and there's free tastings. The brewery is a five-minute walk from Chushojima Station, on the Keihan Line, or a 10-minute walk from Momoyama Goryo-mae Station, on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line. Reservations must be made in advance.
