Adjacent to the well-reputed inn of the same name, this restaurant serves full-course kaiseki ryori dinners (¥12,000) that include a lavish selection of sashimi, soup, rice, vegetables, baked fish, and tempura, the specialty of the house. Or you can try the tempura dinners (¥6,000), which include 13 different pieces of fish, meat, and vegetable tempura, plus rice and soup. Dinner is served in a tatami room. A better value is the ¥2,000 lunch served at the counter, where you can watch the chef fry up your meal. Tempura should be light and crisp—best right from the pot—and for this Yoshikawa is famous. English is spoken, and last orders are taken by 8:30.
