Adjacent to the well-reputed inn of the same name, this restaurant serves full-course kaiseki ryori dinners (¥12,000) that include a lavish selection of sashimi, soup, rice, vegetables, baked fish, and tempura, the specialty of the house. Or you can try the tempura dinners (¥6,000), which include 13 different pieces of fish, meat, and vegetable tempura, plus rice and soup. Dinner is served in a tatami room. A better value is the ¥2,000 lunch served at the counter, where you can watch the chef fry up your meal. Tempura should be light and crisp -- best right from the pot -- and for this Yoshikawa is famous. English is spoken, and last orders are taken by 8:30.
