Home-style o-banzai cooking is the specialty of this sophisticated restaurant in a refurbished town house. Bonito sashimi, simmered pumpkin, and gingery ground chicken are artfully presented on lacquer trays, feasts for the eyes that taste even better than they look. Dinner includes a rich variety of dishes, often numbering between eight and twelve courses. Unlike many traditional houses, where winding corridors lead to small interior rooms, this place's open floor plan includes a cheerful courtyard garden, making the place feel expansive and inviting. Legless chairs on the tatami matting are set comfortably around low tables. In the evening a 10% service charge is added to the bill.
