Fodor's Review:

On the road to Kiyomizu-dera, just south of Ninen-zaka, is a wooden archway covered in senja-fuda, adhesive name cards left by pilgrims on the entryways to shrines and temples. The passage under the arch leads to a small courtyard teahouse, Bun-no-suke Jaya. The specialty here is amazake, a sweet, nonalcoholic beverage served with ginger and traditionally enjoyed by nuns. You can also sip matcha and order fresh Kyoto sweets. The teahouse was founded by Katsura Bun-no-suke, a renowned rakugo (comic storytelling) artist whose fame waned with the advent of motion pictures. The interior is adorned with an eclectic collection of kites and folk dolls.
