Palace Side Hotel Review

A great option for travelers on a budget, this hotel has a good location, convenient access to public transportation, and a very helpful, multilingual concierge. It lacks the plush touches of more-upscale lodgings, but it also lacks the jaw-dropping price tags. Rooms and bathrooms are comfortable, but extremely basic. Some feature paintings by local art students, drawing your eye away from the threadbare spots in the carpets. A communal kitchen is a nice touch if you're planning to stay for a few days; a discount rate for reservations of three nights or more sweetens the pot. The hotel is on the east side of the Imperial Palace, three blocks north of Maruta-machi Station.
