Fodor's Review:
Kyoto hosts traveling Kabuki performances periodically, since most of the troupes are based in Tokyo. Especially anticipated in Kyoto is the annual month long Kaomise (Face Showing) Kabuki Festival in December, featuring top Kabuki stars and introducing upcoming artists. Tickets range from ¥5,250 to ¥24,150 and need to be booked weeks in advance.
