Path of Philosophy (Tetsugaku-no-michi)

Path of Philosophy (Tetsugaku-no-michi) Review

Cherry trees line this walkway along the canal. It has traditionally been a place for contemplative strolling since a famous scholar, Ikutaro Nishida (1870-1945), took his daily constitutional here. It offers less of an introspective environment nowadays, with crowds of tourists tramping towards the Silver Pavilion, but the quaint canal does have coffee shops and small restaurants. From Kyoto Station take Bus 5 to the Ginkaku-ji-michi bus stop.
