This excellent steak restaurant specializes in beer-fed, hand-massaged Omi beef (not as well-known abroad as Kobe beef, but celebrated by Japanese gourmets). You'll be ushered through corridors to the dining room and seated around a hori-gotatsu (recessed grill) or at a counter in a pristine tatami room. Excellent seafood platters are also popular, as are the weekend lunches. The restaurant is in a Meiji-era town house connected to an annex of the Hotel Fujita Kyoto. A drink beside the duck pond in hotel's bar is a great way to end the evening.
