Fodor's Review

Delicious Italian fare is served here under the giant wooden beams of a 300-year-old sake warehouse. Opened in 1967, it is well known in Kyoto. The building was brought here from nearby Nara by a kimono merchant a generation ago, so it's the real deal. Entrées include lobster, roast duck, and sautéed pork, along with an impressive selection of Italian wines. You can choose between a 5- or 10-course dinner. Azekura is a perfect end to your exploration of the district around the Kamigamo shrine. As with most places, lunches are more affordable (and varied), ranging from ¥1,700 to ¥6,000.
