Wakkoku

Wakkoku Review

Wakkoku is a swank but affordable restaurant in the shopping plaza underneath the Oriental hotel. The beef is sliced thin and cooked before you on a teppanyaki grill along with fresh vegetables and served with pepper, mustard, and soy sauce for dipping. The food is delicious. Wakkoku uses three-year-old cows that have never been bred, which assures their highest-quality beef of unbelievable tenderness. Lunch sets start at ¥2,940 and go up to ¥5,040. The pricier option uses the highest-quality meat, a small but noticeable difference.

I have just come back from my trip to Japan, and had the opportunity to try the kobe beef in WAKKOKU restaurant near shinKobe station. The beef was very tender as confirmed by other members. But I would hesitate to recommend . I believe it was over-rated, and for 13000 yens (dinner),one can get better value almost anywhere in Japan.
