Jimbaran Puri Bali Review

For a pampered beach holiday bathed in luxury, settle in at Jimbaran Puri Bali. A vast lotus pond overlooking the sea at the hotel entrance announces an extraordinary property. At this member of the swish Orient Express chain, every room is a detached cottage or villa accessed through a private garden with outdoor shower. Interiors feature separate sitting areas, king beds, and terrazzo sunken baths with gardens views, plus first-rate electronics. Marble floors and precise dark-wood furnishings exude modern elegance, with vintage Bali photos for a sense of place. The service is attentive but unobtrusive. A few miles south of Kuta, Jimbaran is a relaxed alternative in with a peaceful village setting.

Joyous Wedding & Birthday Celebrations with Cherished Family & Friends

Rather recently (May, 2013) we were honoured guests with some special friends at a lovely and intimate wedding weekend at this most refined resort. And, a certain member of our party just so happened to have a little birthday to share. A memorable and all-too short holiday weekend with the loved one, friends, and the now newly-wed couple.

Our travel from our Singapore home to Bali was as fine as ever via Singapore Airlines flight 942 J. We allowed sufficient time to savour a particularly sentimental SIA SilverKris Lounge at Changi before boarding. Upon boarding, those ever perceptive, timeless (and tipped off) flight attendants had a little birthday offering and cake for a certain member of our party. Many thanks, cherished SQ cabin crews, from this proud SQ PPS member; always a pleasure to fly SIA for business and holiday.

Upon resort arrival (we had arranged for round trip resort transfer service; gratefully efficient) we were shown to our one-bedroom 'deluxe pool villa' with king-size bed. Beautifully serene. Indeed, the entire weekend was one of quiet intimacy with the mrs. and our wonderfully low-key friends and the newlyweds. (Perhaps due to the fair amount of flying some of us are obliged to do; any holiday weekend is time to sleep, rest, and receive spa treatments -- which the resort gladly offers.)

Must confess, this resort was not at the top of my (our) next Bali holiday (we've previously stayed at the Four Seasons Jimbaran and Sayan properties, and a business colleague's private villa); the next place was to be a Bali Aman property. But, thanks to our newlywed friends, we've now had the supreme pleasure of a most memorable May stay at Jimbaran Puri Bali. [And, thanks to those sensational Singapore Girls, one more round of birthday offerings and cake for our SQ943 J return home to SIN. Thanks forever, SQ crews.]

Thank you, kind Puri Bali staff and management; we hope to see you in future. Savour your Balinese times at a rather refined retreat.
