Once the property of the maharaja of Nabha, this summer bungalow consciously maintains the aura of an old-fashioned hill station. Away from the crowded Mall, it lets you unwind in peaceful surroundings. The 1845 main bungalow has a typical red-tin roof and an enormous foyer. Guest rooms, created in the 1940s, have understated elegance; the best rooms open onto a veranda facing a courtyard. You can sit under a huge cypress on the front lawn and watch langurs jump through the trees; stroll through the terraced gardens; or walk in the nearby woods. The staff can drop you off at the Mall and pick you up free of charge.
