Haveli Hari Ganga Review

A few minutes' walk from the famous Har-ki-Pauri ghat is a haveli (royal home) built nearly a century ago by the maharaja of Jaipur and owned by the maharaja of Pilibhit. Now restored into a Heritage Hotel, the haveli is perched on a ghat on the shores of the Ganges. Rooms are done in the old-fashioned stately style, and the entire building feels like a royal lodge. One terrace serves as a river-view sitting area, and guest rooms open onto an atrium.

We were outright deceived by the Haveli Hari Ganga management staff. Six mths prior to our check-in, we paid this hotel $600 for 3 nights at the Haveli's annex, the Seth House, since there was no room available in the hotel. Since this was during K/Mela, we decided to book this annex. The Seth House was noted to be along the Ganges and a private house. When we arrived, we were shocked to find that the Seth House was not available & was escorted to another hotel 3 KM away from the main hotel. This other hotel was probably worth $10/night. The restaurant was still under construction, so there was no food provided even though all meals were inclusive. The mgt at Haveli Hari Ganga are just rip off artists. We emailed them to complain, but have not even received a response to date. Be forewarned!!!
