Named after the goddess of food, this is one of the best places in the city to enjoy a quiet, laid-back vegetarian Indian meal. The restaurant is run by a charitable trust turning out homey food prepared by volunteers, and then served in a dining room full of religious sculpture and paintings. (Proceeds go to the trust, which funds medical, social, educational, and cultural causes). Try the amazing range of chutneys and ambrosia, a flavorful health drink that's nonalcoholic, like all the beverages served here.
