The Grand Anaicut
The Grand Anaicut Review
At Kallanai, 24 km (15 mi) east from Trichy is an impressive architectural feat, The Grand Anaicut, a dam still in use. Extending for 330 meters and 20 meters wide, this dam has a road that you can drive across. It was built by the Chola king Karikalan in the 1st century AD, with additions in the 19th century.
