Tirumala Nayak Mahal

Tirumala Nayak Mahal Review

Tirumala Nayak Mahal, an Indo-Saracenic palace, was built by Tirumala Nayak in 1636 and partially restored by Lord Napier, governor of Madras from 1866 to 1872. Although only a portion of the palace remains, what's still here is enough to give an idea of what it was like in its heyday, with Indo-Saracenic arches and cream-colored ceilings with intricate designs. One hall, once used for dances, contains a museum of early sculptures.
