Most of the Western Group of temples, the richest and largest group, are inside a formal enclosure whose entrance is on Main Road, opposite the State Bank of India. Although the rest of the town's temples are always accessible and free, these are open daily only from 10 to 6, and have an admission charge of Rs. 350. The first three temples, though considered part of the Western Group, are at a slight distance from the enclosure.
To actually enter the temples, you’ll need to leave your shoes outside. The stone steps get really hot on summer afternoons—carry socks if you don’t want to burn your feet.
