Fodor's Review

On Lake Pichola, with sublime views of the Lake Palace, City Palace Complex, and ghats, this is one of India's most luxurious (and expensive) hotels—a contemporary palace in its own right. For the ultimate experience, take a suite with butler service and a semiprivate infinity pool, and watch deer approach the edge of the hotel's private wildlife reserve. Traditionally dressed staff reflect old-world courtesy and display acute attention to detail, and the restaurants

serve delicious continental and Indian food.

A Destination Hotel

This is an amazing hotel - with domes and more domes, multiple pools to swim in but also decorative pools everywhere with elephant sculptures and elephant fountains, beautiful views in all directions, a wonderful spa with very reasonable rates, and staff that seem to know what you are going to ask for before you do and provide it with seemingly no effort. The restaurant food was very good and the views from the terrace were beautiful. Our standard

room had a private patio where we had a wonderful starry night, candlelit dinner served by room service. The patio looked out over a grassy courtyard and one of the swimming pools. It was possible to lock part of the inner patio so that you could lounge in the soaking tub while looking out at the colorful flowers. The hotel is beautiful but the staff went above and beyond to make our visit pleasant and memorable. In our opinion, this is the only hotel to stay in when visiting Udaipur.
