Fodor's Review:
Built on the edge of Lake Pichola with a sublime view of the lake palace, the city palace complex, and the ghats, the Oberoi Udaivilas is one of the most luxurious and exclusive hotels in India. With numerous domes, a massive marble lotus pond in the courtyard, and elegantly furnished rooms, this is a contemporary palace in its own right. Semiprivate pools seem to ripple over onto serene Pichola while deer come up to the edge of the hotel's private wildlife reserve. Staff, dressed in traditional clothes, have an unusual old-world courtesy and genuine concern for the welfare of guests. The restaurant serves delicious Continental and Indian food.
