Reggie's Camel Camp

Fodor's Review:
Perched on top of a sand dune is Camel Camp, run by Reggie Singh as a base for operations for camel safaris in the Thar Desert. This is a great alternative to the more touristy camps that operate around Jaisalmer. All costs are included in the price of camp. Every route takes you through several different types of terrain and into the homes of local craftsmen. Make sure you watch the sunset from the dunes -- it's truly breathtaking. Accommodation throughout the trip is in deluxe tents, and you are well taken care of. The outfit even has its own musicians. Camel races and camel polo begin in the winter of 2004.
