In the heart of the Shekhavati region, Dundlod was built in 1750. Now a Heritage Hotel, the fort is still owned by the descendants of the former thakur (landowner). Surrounded by a moat, it has a mix of Moghul and Rajput architecture. Inside, the stunning Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience) has original wall frescoes, European-style portraits, Louis XIV furniture, and a well-stocked library. The clean, simple bedrooms have painted walls. Horse safaris (and camel and jeep trips) are available.
