This Taj-run property is laid-back, if in need of new upholstery, and may give you the impression that you're still in the old hunting-lodge days as you sit on the verandah and look out on the lawn. The colonial building that houses the lobby occupies the site of the royal tented camp, which was once a regular hunting event. A railway line once extended right up to the camp; you can see old photographs of the days when the railway line brought royalty and their guests all the way up to the camp!
