$$-$$$, Jaisalmer
Fodor's Review:
This mid-level sandstone complex has an austere interior. Frescoes decorate some of the walls, many of which are otherwise whitewashed. Standard rooms are spacious and furnished with Western amenities -- but include Rajasthani bedframes. There are occasional pleasant surprises, such as a traditional puppet hanging on the bathroom wall. Definitely get a room with a balcony and a fort view, and take a dip in the pool -- it's the largest in Jaisalmer.
