Taj Hari Mahal

Fodor's Review:

Outside the old city, this is a respite from its hustle and bustle. Of the tastefully decorated and spacious rooms, some overlook the pool and have their own small balcony. The modern rooms and bathrooms are well-equipped but ordinary. However, what this hotel lacks in excitement, it makes up in friendly service and subdued charm. The Chinese restaurant opens only for dinner, but a good multicuisine restaurant is open all day. For special occasions, ask for a demonstration of the elaborate chess dance, during which women in Rajasthani dress swirl across a life-size chessboard. Pros: large closets in rooms, nightly puppet show for kids. Cons: very expensive, far from the sights; the lobby is noisy, with way too much going on.
