Fodor's Review:
This ivy-covered bungalow inside the sanctuary has clean, comfortable rooms -- some with decorative interior swings. All rooms have balconies, from which you may see spotted deer nibbling the grass outside. Indian and Continental buffets are served in the restaurant.

Nice location, but poor facilities

I stayed at the Bharatpur Asok in December 2005. It is located within the Bird sanctuary. But the building's ambience is that of a poorly maintained 1970s Guest House run by the government, i.e., no focus on service quality. The room was clean, but the plumbing in the bathroom was unreliable. It is a pity that a Lodge that has the potential to be one of the best eco-friendly forest lodges in the world is being neglected by ITDC, its current owners.RATING: 1.6
