On the Sabarmati River, this eight-story business hotel with polished marble floors, manicured lawns at the back, and contemporary, typically Indian decor is an excellent value. The standard single rooms, though economical, are rather tiny and do not offer much of a view or character. The deluxe rooms, slightly more expensive, are spacious and have a large sitting area with white couches and rich blue curtains and a desk. Black shiny floors and attractive wood furniture lends the room a graceful style. Bathrooms, done in gray granite, are sparkling clean. Pros: great bang for your buck, comfortable rooms, nice views. Cons: single rooms too small and characterless.
