Designed to resemble a Portuguese villa—an all-too-modern one at that—this hotel has the best (and technically the only) disco in the Gujarat region. Guest rooms are modern and very clean with modest, unremarkable furnishings and upholstery, but shiny marble floors. Each has a small sitting area and views of either the trim flower garden or the large pool and open-air hot tub. A few buildings away is an ayurveda treatment center belonging to the hotel. The resort is close to the city center and overlooks the Arabian Sea. Try a Manchow soup, a spicy thick vegetable noodle soup, and the Hyderabadi biryani (meat cooked with rice) at the restaurant. Pros: quiet, well priced, garden location. Cons: ersatz feel, location is neither in town nor at the best beach, boring decor.
