Barefoot waiters dressed in plain gray uniforms swarm around the dining room of this Ahmedabad institution, tossing handfuls of chapati and puri bread and spooning refills of the various vegetarian concoctions, chutneys, and condiments into stainless-steel thali bowls. Each waiter carries just one garnish or type of food and will hover over you throughout the meal, replenishing your tray before you can eat the last bite (wave him off if you don't want more). The large, simple room is air-conditioned and dark, with pale-gray walls and mirrors set into pillars.

Well, the waiters still serve food barefooted, the restaurant has been renovated and has a small garden visible from the table through large glass windows, while you relish the authentic gujarati food.Food quality has remained the same since it opened in the winter of 1992.For the best in gujarti food, this is the place to dine.
