An enormous fort, built after the Portuguese conquered, is open daily usually 9-5. Dominating the island's seaward end, it offers great views of Diu. When you walk along its ramparts you'll understand just how tenuous the colonists felt their hold on India was. Toppled gravestones alongside the fort's chapel date from as early as 1608.
