The former royal collection is housed in the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum on the run-down, once-gorgeous grounds of the maharaja's palace. Just taking a peek at the ornate gates of this palace and its exterior is an experience—a peep into how some of India's top royalty once lived. The palace now houses a museum that's popular with the locals but does not have that much to look. However, there is an excellent assembly of work by the important 19th-century painter Raja Ravi Verma, as well as those of Titian, Poussin, and Raphael.
