This property sits at the end of a long and solitary road, on acres of beautiful gardens. On the shore or Laka Pichola, it's totally removed from the bustle of downtown Udaipur. The hotel's architecture is striking, but the interior is somewhat lacking in aesthetic sensibility; rooms, facing either the garden or pool, are well equipped and modern, but nondescript. The pool is heated and thus pleasant day or night. The smiling and attentive staff aims to please. Bada Mahal, the adjoining hunting lodge, offers the opportunity to watch deer and wild boar being fed every evening by a caretaker. The restaurant, Aravalli, serves Indian and Continental buffet and à la carte dishes at lunch and dinner. Pros: one of the relatively affordable options among luxury hotels in Udaipur, peaceful location. Cons: uninspiring rooms are a bit on the small side, the location is not central.

We stayed at the Udaipur Hilton for 3 nights in April of 2009. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and the grounds which were very well maintained. The restaurant serves excellent food and the buffets are filled with fresh and well prepared dishes. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Udaipur.
