In the heart of the city is Dargah Sharif, the tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moin-ud din Chisti. This site is comparable to Mecca in significance for South Asian Muslims, and is frequented by Muslims and non-Muslims alike, especially during Urs (a death anniversary celebration that takes place during six days in the Islamic month of Rajab—around September or October). Be prepared to deal with aggressive beggars on the street leading to the dargah.
