The middle fort of Jaipur's three, both in position and altitude, Jaigarh Fort—originally the royal treasury—has large watertanks meant to store rainwater channeled down the hill from imposing Nahargarh. There's a fantastic view from the watchtower, and an air of ruin and abandonment. A large monkey population now provides endless entertainment and a certain amount of annoyance in the center of the fort, while the largest wheeled cannon in the world draws visitors to its periphery. It's possible to drive from Jaigarh to Amer; you might need a driver who knows the way through the narrow lanes. Guides are also available at the entrance, an English-speaking person will charge about Rs. 100.
